Fergus Pipe Band Receives the 2007 Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce Award of Merit for Arts and Culture!

The Fergus Pipe Band is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the 2007 Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce Award of Merit for Arts and Culture. The award recognizes any individual, group, organization or business for a significant contribution to Centre Wellington’s Cultural environment through distinguished service or artistic achievement.

The award was presented to the band by Councillor Robert Foster, Centre Wellington Township Council – Ward 3 – Fergus, during the Annual Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce awards banquet April 19, 2007. Councillor Foster’s presentation speech was inspiring to the Band members in attendance and a testament to our commitment to this community. The speech, in its entirety can be found here.

The Fergus Pipe Band would like to thank Councillor Robert Foster, the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce, the Cultural Affairs Committee, Municipal Council and the Township of Centre Wellington for this recognition.

The Band looks forward to an event packed year celebrating its 80th anniversary and representing the fine town of Fergus, Ontario!
