Fergus Pipe Band adds that Scottish Flare to the 2008 TSC Tankard in Waterloo, Ontario

The Fergus Pipe Band has again partnered with the City of Waterloo, TSC, the Ontario Curling Association, the Westmount Golf and Country Club and the KW Granite Club. This time to play at the 2008 TSC Tankard Curling Event at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex, February 4th through 10th.

This is the second major curling event the Band has played at, in as many years. In 2006, the Fergus Pipe Band was given the honour of leading on the Curlers during the 2006 Masters of Curling Grand Slam Event in Waterloo. For the 2008 event, Fergus provided a full band for the opening and closing ceremonies and 2 Pipers to kick off each evening competition.

While the final attendance numbers are still pending, the event was expected to draw over 10,000 fans from all over Ontario. With the likes of Howard, Harris and Middaugh competing for the honour to represent Ontario at the Briar, even a major Winter storm failed to keep fans and the Fergus Pipe Band away.

The Fergus Pipe Band would like to thank the various organizations for including us in the event. It was a truly thrilling honour to be involved! We would also like to extend our congratulations to Team Howard for their win and to the other teams for an excellent performance and truly entertaining week!
