Fergus Pipe Band Supports Groves Memorial Community Hospital CT Scanner Fundraising Efforts

The women band members provided the meal and entertainment for the group of Centre Wellington residents who pledged the winning bid for this service at the auction held during the band’s ‘Scotchtoberfest’ party in October.

The guests were served a meal that was beyond all expectations. Brandon Taylor, a young man at the beginning of his career as a chef, put together a five course menu that amazed all those who participated. Brandon was at the ‘Scotchtoberfest’ event and volunteered at that time to be responsible for the food preparation. The band members, relieved of that responsibility, served the food and drink and provided two sets of tunes for the gathering.

The Fergus Pipe Band sends a huge thank-you to Brandon Taylor for his significant contribution to the success of our completion of this pledge of service.

The CT Scanner is now installed and providing an important health service to the community. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on November 9, 2009. Fundraising efforts to that date amounted to $1.7 million of the necessary $3 million. The Fergus Pipe Band is pleased that they can be part of the community effort to fund the remaining $1.3 million.
