The Fergus Pipe Band played as a lead in to the opening ceremonies. The band was honoured also to lead the survivors on their survivor lap.
The Relay For Life is a 12-hour non-competitive relay in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Teams of approximately 10 people camp out for the night and take turns walking around a track. The track is lined with Luminaries which are candles lit ‘in honour’ or ‘in memory’ of someone who has had cancer.
With live entertainment, team challenges and wonderful food participants and volunteers alike help make cancer history!
The Fergus Pipe Band is pleased to contribute to this annual event.

Fergus Pipe Band Supports Relay for Life
Under the direction of Pipe Major Jim Stewart and Drum Sergeant Alex Hobler, the pipers and drummers from the Fergus Pipe Band were honoured to be part of the ‘Relay for Life’ event held in Fergus under the banner of the ‘Wellington County unit of the Canadian Cancer Society’.The Fergus Pipe Band played as a lead in to the opening ceremonies.
